Welcome! I’m Scott, a passionate cinematographer with a diverse background in film and television. I started my career in the industry apprenticing under the renowned documentary cinematographer Tim Cragg. During this formative period, I honed my skills in assisting and focus pulling, contributing to projects like the Emmy-nominated series “Beckham”. This experience paved the way for my first cinematography roles, shooting documentary work for Channel 4.
Since then, I have had the privilege of working across various genres - from music videos and documentaries to commercials and narrative films.
My approach is always collaborative, focusing on developing a unique style that complements each director’s vision. I’m committed to working on films with important, relevant stories, ensuring the cinematographic language aligns with the piece.
I’m well versed with both digital and film, but mostly work with with digital equipment. This choice is driven by the flexibility it offers for smaller crews and logistically challenging environments. I’m experienced with a range of cameras, from the Alexa Mini LF to the Sony FX6, a variety of RED cameras and the Arri SR3 16mm. I place particular emphasis on lens selection. Thanks to my close relationships with local rental houses, I have access to an array of vintage and modern lenses. For each project, I carefully consider how the lens choice will enhance the storytelling. My experience spans from Angenieux Optimo’s and Cooke Anamorphics to lightweight Nikon Vintage Stills Primes.
I’m always eager to collaborate with both emerging and established directors, constantly seeking new opportunities to learn and create. If you have a project in mind or just want to discuss film, don’t hesitate to reach out!
